BMW heir’s solar firm investing €10m in targeting Irish market

The German solar panel and battery storage maker Solarwatt is investing €10 million in the Irish market.

Founded in 1993, Solarwatt is owned by German billionaire Stefan Quandt whose family owns a major stake in the BMW group.

It will sell in Ireland under its Smart Solar brand and has teamed up with BHC Distributors to distribute its products.
