Blow to AIB as CEO Byrne defects to Davy
AIB boss Bernard Byrne is defecting to Davy stockbrokers in one of the biggest shake-ups of financial services in Ireland in some years and delivers another blow to the bank.
In a statement today Davy confirmed that he will be joining the firm as a head of its capital markets division, with confirmation of the appointment coming just hours after the bank said he would leave next year.
Davy said Kyran McLaughlin will remain as deputy chairman of the company and will become non-executive chairman of the capital markets unit, providing ongoing counsel to clients and ensuring a seamless transition.
