Bank blocked liquidation of Orla Kiely with administrator

A bank with mortgage charges over Orla Kiely’s London shops appointed an administrator to the business after it sought to liquidate, a source familiar with the matter said.

Metro Bank has charges over 2 Percy Street in London’s Fitzrovia area, 207 King’s Road and 31-33 Monmouth Street in Covent Garden, which are leased by Kiely Rowan plc, the fashion retailer’s company.
