Aryzta, the Irish-Swiss food giant, is to close six bakeries as part of its plans to save €200 million in costs over the next three years.

The company, best known in Ireland for its Cuisine de France food brand, said last week that as part of its cost-cutting plans, known as Project Renew, it was taking out four plants in North America and two plants in Europe.
