Red C Poll: Twice as many support lifting airport passenger cap as oppose the move

DAA’s calls to increase passenger numbers to 40 million annually has sparked fierce debate over the airport’s economic value and its environmental responsibilities

Twice as many people favour increasing the passenger cap at Dublin Airport than oppose it, according to the latest Business Post/Red C poll.

Some 47 per cent of people believe the country’s busiest airport should be allowed to increase the current cap on passengers, compared to 21 per cent who said the cap should remain. A third of people, 32 per cent, have no strong opinion, according to the poll.
