Helen McEntee, the Minister for Justice, has said there should be a restoration of pay for barristers practising criminal law.

Her comments on RTÉ’s Today with Claire Byrne followed the Bar Council’s call for a withdrawal of services in criminal trials on October 3 in protest at the delays to pay restoration.
