First look at IKEA’s new al fresco collection

Ikea’s new retro-inspired range is a 24-piece drop focused on entertaining outdoors

Long sharing chopping boards are €19, with glass goblets for €4 and carafes for €10

The Bröggan collection comes with geometric designs in green and yellow reminiscent of classic 1960s delf, which is respun on tablecloths and cushion covers, bowls and mugs. There are mix-and-match glassware and chopping boards, indoor and outdoor rugs, throws, bath sheets and a beach bag hold-all, all available later this month.

The Bröggan trolley is €70, with cushions for €8
Flatwoven indoor/outdoor rug, €50

Ikea have also just launched the UTSÅDD collection, a range designed for pets that aims to be easy to clean and hard-wearing. Featuring colourful food bowls, a double-sided anti-slip placemat to help minimise mess, the bowls are ceramic and less likely to move around, come in multiple sizes and are dishwasher and refrigerator safe.

There are blankets and beds in different options, materials and sizes (all are water-repellent and machine-washable) with bone-shaped toys made from natural rubber and fabric. Cats also feature with a rattan-made house with a snug version that fits into the IKEA Kallax shelving unit.

Cat House, €5
Pet blanket, €17
Cat house on legs, €60

The collection, the Swedish retailer say, is based on research on the daily life, behaviours, and preferences of pets at home and developed with input from veterinarians, pet product experts, and an allegedly high-maintenance panel of cats and dogs. The 29-product range available in store and online from 1 April 2024 and focuses on four different activities: eat, sleep, play and hide. ikea.com/ie/en/
