EDF Renewables connects its first three solar farms to the grid

The three farms are located in Wexford and Kilkenny and have been completed following the French company’s acquisition of Wexford Solar in 2020

EDF Renewables has connected three solar farms, in Carrigeen Co. Kilkenny and in Ballycullane and Killinick in Co. Wexford, to the national grid.

The three farms have a combined capacity of 17 megawatts (MW), capable of powering 6,600 homes. The solar farms have been developed under the government’s Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (Ress). Sheep will continue to graze on the farms while they are operational.
