Eithne Shortall: Dublin increasingly feels like a failing capitalist experiment
It is hard to work out who the capital city of our country is being run for
Who is Dublin for? I ask myself this question every time I am in the city centre. As someone who lives on the outskirts of the city, and within its council and electoral area, it certainly doesn’t feel like it’s for residents. Dublin took a blow during the pandemic, but two years on, not much has improved. Crucially, there is no sense of a bureaucratic will for it to improve.
