Noonan says new growth figures will not affect Budget

Revised GDP figures were boosted by tax inversion

Finance Minister Michael Noonan has said that the 26 per cent surge in national income last year will have no effect on the forthcoming Budget in October.

Noonan said the revised GDP growth figures from the Central Statistics Office were due to aircraft leasing deals and overseas companies transferring their tax base here, rather than the actual growth of the economy.
