Minister of State for Tourism Patrick O’Donovan has said that retaining the 9 per cent Vat rate for tourism is the “right thing to do” in the October budget.

The cut in Vat from 13.5 per cent to 9 per cent has been credited with creating and maintaining 31,000 jobs in the sector since it was introduced four years ago.
