Time for tech start-ups to grow up

Young workers living on trendy food substitutes or submitting to ridiculous house rules is no way to run a firm. It’s time for tech start-ups to grow up.

Last week, the New York Times wrote about start-up engineers turning to protein meal substitutes such as Soylent, and Schmoylent (yes, Schmoylent) because they’re hacking so hard that eating has become obsolete for them. Because in Silicon Valley, it’s all about creating maximum efficiency. With a meal substitute, you can crush, swig, deploy and be your own Minimum Viable Product. Soylent is bootstrap juice. Right?
