Companies that raised bumper rounds of funding in previous years at lofty valuations have seen those price tags drop as VC funding becomes increasingly sparse and investors more restrained

Start-up valuations in Ireland have “drastically cooled” this year, according to new research.

The figures from Pitchbook, a venture capital research firm, show that start-up valuations in Europe are still undergoing a correction that commenced last year.

Start-ups in Ireland and Britain, as well as several other western European countries, have seen valuations drop in the first half of 2023.
