Galway medtech Atlantic Therapeutics acquired

Caldera Medical, a Los Angeles-based female-focused medical device company, snapped up the firm for an undisclosed sum

Galway-based Atlantic has developed a wearable device that treats incontinence and other associated disorders

Atlantic Therapeutics, an Irish medtech company that has raised almost $100 million from backers to date, has been acquired for an undisclosed sum.

The buyer, Caldera Medical - a Los Angeles-headquartered women’s health medical device company, develops products for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, polyps and fibroids.

Caldera said it intends to maintain its European headquarters and innovation centre in Ireland.
