State must remove obstacles to building more homes
Lack of affordable housing can only be addressed if we re-zone land and incentivise construction
Housing, or the lack of it, is one of the most critical issues in Ireland today. At a time when we have a strengthening economy, a soaring population and massive pent-up demand for homes, we have a dysfunctional market, with 10,000 people homeless and many thousands more unable to buy or rent suitable accommodation and an abundance of self-inflicted blows to achieving normality and a healthy housing sector.
