Twenty years ago, three old pub advertising mirrors were bought from an employee of the former Carroll’s Tobacco Factory in Dundalk. The buyer used them to plug holes in his Co Louth garden shed.

This week they’ll go under the hammer, described by auctioneer Victor Mee as “some of the rarest and best quality mirrors I have seen in my lifetime”.
