Proclamation from 1916 up for bids

“Irishmen and Irishwomen: In the name of God and of the dead generations from which she received her old traditions of nationhood, Ireland, through us, summons her children to her flag and strikes for her freedom.”

So begins the most important document in Ireland’s history, the Proclamation of Independence, read by Padraig Pearse on the steps of the General Post Office on Easter Monday 1916.
