Meet the maker: Dr Christopher McHugh

The archaeologist and ceramics expert is inspired by Seto, a ceramic manufacturing city in Japan and would like to see the ancient rock paintings of Lascaux Cave in France

Christopher McHugh studied archaeology at the university of Durham and completed his MPhil at Cambridge. In 2015, he obtained a PhD in Ceramics from the University of Sunderland, having undertaken an AHRC collaborative doctoral project in partnership with Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens. McHugh is currently Visiting Research Fellow in the faculties of Health Sciences and Wellbeing and Arts and Creative Industries at the University of Sunderland.
