If reports from Brussels are factual, then all the assurances given by our government over our red lines on the border were simply hot air. We badly miscalculated during David Cameron’s renegotiations, so let us not do so again

Our new Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Simon Coveney, was in Belfast last Monday to meet with the British Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, James Brokenshire, and the local political parties. The new minister was quoted as saying that Ireland would not accept a Brexit deal unless it protects the Good Friday Agreement.
