Insurers have been accused of exaggerating the level of fraudulent insurance claims by almost 20 percentage points to justify higher premiums.
Insurance companies were last week called before the Oireachtas finance committee to give assurances that the cost of cover would be cut if the level of court awards was reduced through measures being introduced by the government.
