Minister warns TDs of ‘catastrophe’ if bill on judicial panel to set injury award guidelines gets delayed

Junior finance minister Michael D’Arcy has said he hopes the bill will complete report stage in a single day this week and be passed into law by the time the Dáil breaks for summer on July 11

The establishment of a panel of judges with the power to set guidelines for personal injury awards could be delayed until the end of 2020 if legislation underpinning the new Judicial Council fails to pass within the next month.
