Meath is getting the lowest government funding in the country despite its huge growth in population, according to a new analysis.

The method of sharing out funding for councils has been frozen since 2007, even though the populations of some councils have continued to grow.

The government has set up a review to discover a fairer way of funding the country’s 31 councils.
