Independent Alliance pushes for constituency cash

Independent Alliance ministers are demanding funding for hospital projects in their constituencies in the new capital spending plan.

The government last week launched a review of the €27 billion 2016-2021 capital plan that was unveiled by the previous Fine Gael/Labour government. An extra €5.1 billion has been made available as part of last year’s summer economic statement, but €2.5 billion has already been committed to housing projects.
