US president Joe Biden begins his four-day visit to the island of Ireland on Tuesday when he will land in Belfast as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Good Friday Agreement.

He will open Ulster University’s new £350 million (€395 million) campus in Belfast on Wednesday and meet Rishi Sunak, the British prime minister.

He will then visit Carlingford and Dundalk in Co Louth, where he has ancestral roots, on Wednesday afternoon.
