Government supports EU bid to reform national debt reduction rules

The Irish government “strongly supports” EU proposals to radically overhaul national debt sustainability rules, the Business Post has learned.
In recent meetings of European finance ministers, Michael McGrath, the Minister for Finance, has expressed Ireland’s support for new European Commission proposals to reform the bloc’s fiscal rules.
