A Sinn Féin motion of no-confidence in Helen McEntee, the minister for justice, is a “political stunt”, a government minister has said.

Hildegarde Naughton, the Fine Gael minister of state for public health and wellbeing, said the government was focused on assisting the Garda so that violent scenes which erupted in Dublin recently are never repeated.
