Employers deal is big boost for jobless candidates

Almost 200 of the country’s biggest employers, including PayPal and Glanbia, have signed up to a new deal to give half of their job interviews to unemployed candidates.

The move is aimed at helping people who have been out of work for lengthy periods due to the recession. They have been often ignored by employers in favour of young graduates and candidates already in other employment.
