Ireland’s new online electoral laws could set the country on a collision course with European reforms, and force digital platforms to choose between breaking Irish or international law, social media companies have warned.
Policy bosses at Facebook and Twitter will next week appear in front of the Oireachtas committee on housing, local government and heritage to discuss the country’s Electoral Reform Bill.
