Comment: A first step for the fledgling minority government
Agreement on this budget makes it more likely this government will get through the next, says Michael Brennan
The general reaction in this minority government to the delivery oftheir first budget has been one of relief.
It was summed up in some ways by Public Expenditure Minister Paschal Donohoe in his budget speech: "Many believed that the government would not still be in place by the time budget day arrived, and yet here we are."
The three component parts of this government are reasonably satisfied withthe contents of the Budget.
