Jacob Rees-Mogg, the arch Brexiteer MP and member of the inner Tory group the European Research Group (ERG), announced this week that the DUP were the ‘guardians of the union’ - the sort of words that are music to that party’s staunch unionist fibre. It would have been the tagline for the party should it have chosen such a marketing tool.
