That recent headline was stark; 10 million people now predicted to die every year around the globe because of resistance to antibiotics. That is more than the total of global cancer deaths. And, these are not deaths from a new mystery illness; these would be the kind of deaths we no longer expect. Not just that; these are deaths that cause outrage in hospital wards and doctors’ surgeries because they are already happening.
