Independent TDs can barely agree on speaking time as it is, so why should voters trust them with reforming the political system?

All this talk about a new political party or parties is just that – all talk. As independents, Sinn Féin and micro-parties surf the waves of public disaffection, the assumption is now gaining ground that the centre cannot hold and an uncertain new dawn beckons. Who will go into government with Sinn Féin? Will the Independents be able to agree on the share out of Cabinet posts? Does Finian McGrath have the gravitas for Ceann Comhairle and will Paul Murphy get an overall majority? Will Twink’s dog go missing again?
