A public sector management that is insulated from the negative effects of its decisions will get worse, not better

It’s not every day I start a column with a Bible verse, but in this case Proverbs 4:24 is exactly what we need. I’m sure you know this one already. It’s the one that exhorts you not to talk out of both sides of your mouth; not to practise hypocrisy, hold contradictory positions simultaneously, and yet somehow expect change.
