A poor excuse: Five arguments for not dealing with poverty

Is poverty a problem or not? What can we do about it, if anything? It may help to think of this in terms of five conventional responses to the issue

Think of the full Aviva Stadium last week for the Six Nations rugby match against England. Now imagine 15 of those stadiums, jam-packed: that’s the number of people in Ireland who live below the poverty line. Four of those Avivas (and some) are full of children.
