The Leaving Cert is failing generations of students

It is time we had an education system that fosters creativity and citizenship instead of hot-housing our children for the rat race

The Leaving Cert has merits: for most students, it embeds key skills and knowledge, and offers a level playing field. The points system exists to provide a merit-based assessment for entry to third level; it does this basic job well. But is this raison d’être part of the problem?
