The 'exhausting and disappointing' presidential race

Much of what has passed for debate would be better off being physically shredded and piled on a bonfire or, preferably, sent to a very distant, dark cyber cloud for permanent and never-ending storage

What do we have to do to make sure that we never have to experiencean election race like this one again? Limit the number of candidates to two? Limit the term of office to one? Insist candidates must have recognised public service experience? Limit the number of debates to one, or ban them altogether? Abolish the Presidency perhaps? Yes, it is that bad.

Tinkering with the presidential process would be oh so tricky. ...
