Housing Crisis: Courts can lead where state has failed

Ireland’s judiciary has an opportunity to offer creative solutions to tackle the crisis

This week, the Supreme Court will hear an important appeal touching on the right to housing in Ireland. Predictably, the state has sought to join the proceedings, to argue against the proposition that housing is a constitutional right that can be enforced through the courts.
