Whistleblower: ‘congealed blood’ on mops in Waterford hospital

Mops heavily soiled with congealed blood were left on the floors and sluices of surgical theatres in Waterford University Hospital, according to a nurse who formerly worked at the hospital.

The nurse made her claims during a constructive dismissal case against the hospital, a recent Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) ruling shows.
