The Business Post Group is a diversified media group with a strong technology, data, digital and experience driven portfolio of businesses. The flagship brand of the Business Post sits at the centre of the group and has a 30+ year track record as Ireland’s leading niche business, politics, economics and current affairs national news title.

The Business Post now wishes to recruit a Head of Marketing. The successful candidate will play a key part in the brand’s digital transformation, implementing an organisation-wide marketing and e-commerce strategy to drive business growth and digital customer acquisition.

The responsibilities of the role will include:

Compiling the overall marketing strategy for the Business Post, in line with the wider group strategy.

Working with the CEO and other senior leadership team members to deliver on the marketing requirements for the range of diverse and prestigious brands across the organisation; including the Business Post, Irish Tatler, Food&Wine, Connected, Auto Ireland and iQuest’s extensive events portfolio, among others.

Designing and implementing a digital marketing and e-commerce strategy with conversion rate optimisation at its core for the organisation’s suite of products; building affinity, converting subscribers/members and leading demand generation.

Liaising with senior management to set corporate goals and maximise budget value.

Liaising with third parties, such as digital agencies and software vendors, to optimise channels, lead gen, bidding and targeting strategies.

Researching and analysing performance drivers to improve future campaign profitability/growth and contributing towards yearly marketing budgets, KPIs and sales forecasts.

Planning, creating and implementing a comprehensive comms and social media strategy to increase reach, number of followers and engagement, and ultimately to drive revenue / customer conversion.

Designing and implementing campaign, content and video strategies that transmit the organisation’s goals and objectives.

Upgrading the organisation’s digital capabilities with key stakeholders, as well as implementing best practice social media and digital marketing trends for profitable growth.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

5+ years of digital marketing experience with a demonstrable record of building online capability, as well as customer acquisition / retention through e-commerce driven strategies

Experience within the media / content sectors is preferable

A degree (or equivalent) in digital marketing or business

Excellent knowledge of SEM, CMS and CRM management, as well as eCommerce and MarTech innovation

Confident at interpreting complex data and drawing out insights for business growth and optimization

Experience in implementing a growth plan to drive change and opportunities for collaboration within an organisation

Experience delivering KPIs, measurable output and financial results

Excellent project management, communication and people skills

Management experience in email/SMS marketing, content marketing, social media, PPC display, affiliate marketing, conversion rate optimisation and retargeting campaigns

Confidence in representing the brand in pitches and to external stakeholders

In-depth understanding of SEO ranking factors and Google Ads tools

Experience or understanding of managing e-commerce tools

Experience conducting AB testing with large data sets

Driving scale, speed and efficiency but not at the expense of excellence

Network and proactively build relationships across multiple teams, departments and disciplines as necessary to achieve objectives and manage dependencies and stakeholders

Strong interpersonal skills, with a strong, self-directed work ethic
