A long, and costly, battle between Ires Reit and activist Vision Capital has been fruitful in creating shareholder value, according to Jeffrey Olin, the latter’s chief executive.

The heated battle between the state’s largest landlord and one of its biggest shareholders was halted this week as the two parties finally came to a co-operation agreement.

The stand-off between the two sides had looked set to continue as recently as 5 April when Ires issued a stock exchange update saying Vision had asked shareholders to foot a €425,000 bill for its campaign costs.
