Varadkar confident in Stormont stability as he departs office

Leo Varadkar has said that he is confident that Stormont will prove "stable" and "sustainable", as he prepares to depart as taoiseach following a meeting of the North-South Ministerial Council.

The meeting came weeks after Northern Irish politics was rocked by the sudden resignation of Jeffrey Donaldson as DUP leader, after being charged with alleged historical offences. He has been replaced by Gavin Robinson as interim leader.
