Unique furniture firm aims to Hoek US market on back of $1.1m funding round
Brooklyn-based company’s products can be pieced together using a unique flexible joint design made from recycled material
Hoek, Conor Coghlan’s sustainable furniture firm whose backers include Wayflyer co-founder Jack Pierse, is close to completing a new $1.1 million funding round.
Pierse has returned to back the company, which is in advanced talks with an unnamed ‘big box’ retailer – meaning a large chain of general stores – in the US that is interested in taking its products.
Coghlan said he was optimistic that Hoek would become an internationally-known brand.
