The British government is being urged to drop its "wait and see" approach to artificial intelligence and bring forward legislation to regulate the technology.

Chris Holmes, a Conservative member of the House of Lords and a prominent parliamentary advocate for AI, told the Business Post that waiting 12 months to legislate would be a major mistake by Rishi Sunak, the UK prime minister.
