UK air traffic control outage last year was worsened by poor communication, report finds

The report lays out in damning detail how a mix of poor planning, slow action and lack of expertise disrupted travel for more than 700,000 passengers

A major air-traffic control outage last summer in the UK was exacerbated by poor communication choices and a slow response to the incident, an interim report found.

The fault on August 28 caused widespread disruption to flights across Europe and led to the cancellation of more than 100 flights into and out of Dublin, Belfast, Cork and Shannon.
