Tourism Ireland has urged caution despite new figures showing a solid increase in trips to Ireland for the first four months and a pick-up in British visitors.

The Central Statistics Office said overseas visitors made 938,300 trips to Ireland during April, up 4.3 per cent on the same month last year. For the first four months of the year, visits to the country are up 5.1 per cent to almost 2.97 million.
