The hearing into a Donegal abattoir’s final days of business has been playing out in the High Court in recent weeks

“My heart is thumping here,” Peter Duggan, a cattle farmer from Lifford, Donegal, said as he sat in the witness box in the High Court.

Duggan, who was giving evidence as part of a lawsuit involving Edenmore Farm Meats, a collapsed abattoir business, had just been engaged in a tense exchange with Mr Justice Oisín Quinn for not answering questions being put to him under cross-examination.
