Split Vat rate for hotels and restaurants unlikely to be included in Budget 2024

Any splitting of the Vat rate for hotels and restaurants won’t be implemented in this year’s budget, it’s understood.

The proposal was raised with Catherine Martin, the minister for tourism, and Simon Coveney, the minister for enterprise, at a meeting with representative bodies this morning.

Martin reportedly told the Hospitality and Tourism Forum that splitting the two rates could be “looked at“.
