A Slovenian insurer has abandoned plans to accept legal proceedings taken against it by a Galway publican as a test case, in a move that could have serious consequences for hundreds of pubs across the country.
Brian Winters, the owner of Charlie’s Bar in Loughrea, Co Galway, launched legal proceedings against Sava Insurance Group after it declined cover for losses arising from the pandemic.
