Review ordered of state’s ‘rent before buy’ policy after €92m spend on annual rent

The Office of Public Works (OPW) has been told to review the cost of its ‘rent rather than buy’ policy.

It comes after the revelation that the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) and Nama are going to spend up to €175 million renting a new headquarters over 25 years when it could have been bought for €164 million.
