A total 5,400 fake Burberry scarves valued at nearly €2 million were seized last year by Revenue in one haul.

The scarves, which were valued at €1.89 million based on the price of genuine products, meant the total value of counterfeit goods seized in 2018 more than doubled compared with the previous year.

Genuine Burberry scarves cost between €150 to €890, and the luxury British fashion label has been battling against fake versions of its products for years.
